I heard that Wiregrass Church is a non-denominational church. What does non-denominational mean?

In organizing this church, our foremost desire was to be an attractive environment for those who do not regularly attend church. For the most part, our feeling is that denominational titles mean more to churched people than unchurched people. In fact, we believe there are more disadvantages to a denominational title than there are advantages. We try to clearly state what we believe on the “Our Beliefs” page of our website.

What does it mean that we are a “Strategic Partner” of North Point Ministries?

North Point Ministries is the parent organization of which Wiregrass Church is a strategic partner. That means that we have the same mission, strategy, values & beliefs as North Point Ministries but are a separate entity. You can find out more about our partnership here.

What is the deal with the video sermon? Will you ever have a live local preacher on Sundays?

We often use video as a means to bring relevant messages to our congregation. As long as the video technique is meaningful and helpful in our mission to lead people into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ, we will continue to use video messages for preaching and a local ministry staff for ministry. If we determine another technique is more relevant and helpful in accomplishing our mission, we will adopt it. We have been using the combination of video sermons and local ministry staff preaching since the summer of 2004 and so far have found them to be quite effective. From time to time, we will have live speakers for holidays or to address local Wiregrass Church topics.

What is the format for the worship services?

As a strategic partner with North Point ministries, our typical service consist of live worship and a video-cast message from North Point Community Church.

Since you use video sermons of Andy Stanley from North Point, who is the pastor of Wiregrass Church?

Wiregrass Church is a strategic partner with North Point Ministries (NPM). That means that we have the same mission, strategy, values & beliefs as North Point Ministries but are a separate entity. Andy Stanley is the founder and senior pastor of North Point Ministries. However, the senior pastor of Wiregrass Church (WC) is Troy Fountain. Troy leads the staff of WC in its day-to-day operations and in discerning the ministry needs of those who attend WC and those who live in the community.

What is the leadership structure?

According to our church constitution, the phrase we use to describe the function of government at Wiregrass Church is that we are guarded by the Elders, guided by the Staff and gifted through the membership. However, in more specific terms, the Wiregrass Church government is built around four teams of people.

  • Ministry Team Representatives
  • Stewardship Team
  • Staff Leadership Team
  • Elders

Ministry Team Representatives (MTR) are individuals chosen by a particular area of ministry to represent that group as a channel of communication to and from the other ministries, staff and elders. MTR`s serve one-year terms and are the only group in the church, other than the Elders, that can call for a special business meeting of the church.

The Stewardship Team oversees all the financial and personnel matters. The lead pastor is accountable to the Stewardship Team in all these matters, and along with the Church administrator attends the team`s meetings but without voting privileges. Stewardship Team members serve three-year terms and successive members are chosen by the existing Stewardship Team and approved by the Elders.

The Staff Leadership Team consists of staff members selected by the lead pastor. The purpose of this group is to determine programming, give vision to the various ministries of the church, and to oversee the day-to-day operations.

Elders function primarily as discerners and shepherds and serve as the conscience and guardians of the church. Their role is to evaluate everything going on in the church in light of three things; our mission, our resources and our doctrinal statement. The Board of Elders consists of men who serve three-year terms. Successive elders who meet the qualifications of Elders/Overseers outlined in 1 Timothy 3:1-11 and Titus 1:5-9 are nominated by church members and approved by a committee consisting of four elders and four MTRs.

Why doesn’t Wiregrass Church have Adult Sunday School?

The mission of Wiregrass Church is to lead people into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ. We feel that this growth is sustained best in a small group environment. There are several reasons why we have chosen community groups as our primary relational structure. First, not having adult Sunday School allows attendees to participate in strategic service. We have also found that meeting in a home is a safe, predictable environment where no one slips through the cracks. True accountability can be reached with a consistent group of people in a community group. Lastly, people are able to benefit from the encouragement and accountability of a small group while still being part of our invest and invite evangelism strategy.

Our Plan

5, 4, 3, 2, 1. No we are not talking about a rocket launch. 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 is a simple way to remember how Wiregrass is set up. This will help you to talk about the “whys and hows” of Wiregrass Church. What do the numbers stand for?

5 things God uses to grow your faith

  • Pivotal Circumstances – unexpected events that come our way that may be divine opportunities
  • Personal Ministry – the relationship between our faith and our service to others
  • Practical Teaching – Learning biblical principles and then applying them in our lives resulting in spiritual growth
  • Providential Relationships – realizing there are people who played significant roles along the way in our faith story
  • Private Disciplines – God leveraging systematic prayer, Bible study, and generosity to grow our confidence in him

4 things for partnership with Wiregrass Church

  • Work – serving strategically to connect others with God
  • Invite – investing relationally in others so that you can invite them to church
  • Tithe – giving back a percentage of what God has given you
  • Huddle – connecting with others in life changing groups

3 Vital Relationships

  • Intimacy with God
  • Community with Insiders
  • Influence with Outsiders

2 Objectives for Environments

  • Engaging – Do people enjoy the environment?
  • Helpful – Are people learning and growing in the environment?

1 Mission

  • We do all of this around one mission of leading people into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ

Our Mission & Vision

At Wiregrass, our dream is simple: to lead people into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ by creating environments that make it easy for people to come to and bring others so that we all can connect with God.

Far too often the church is marginalized in society, but we believe that as a church, we are stewards of the most important message in the history of humanity. And we want to be wise stewards. We want to create environments that are not just relevant and irresistible, but are people’s best option on Sunday morning.

In July of 2004, this dream began to take shape, and we are proud to say that our dreams of what could be for our surrounding community far surpass our memories of what has already been done.

We invite you to come see Wiregrass Church. And we invite you to join our dream of leading our community into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ.

Our Partners

NPSP-LogoOur Partners
Wiregrass Church is blessed to be a North Point Strategic Partner. This means, we’re part of a network of churches who are also helping to create churches that people love to attend.

North Point Ministries is the parent organization to North Point Community Church, Buckhead Church, Browns Bridge Community Church, Watermarke Church, and Gwinnett Church. These churches are all campuses of the same church. Wiregrass Church is not a campus of North Point Ministries. As a strategic partner, we are a separate organization in leadership and finances, but we do operate under the same mission and model.

Strategic Partners
There are a number of North Point Strategic Partners and campuses across North America. If you have friends or family in these areas we encourage you to inform them about these great churches.

Values & Beliefs

Our Values

Biblical Authority
God has spoken to us through the Bible and we recognize it as the final authority for our lives. Are your priorities consistent with scripture?

Intimacy with God
God desires an intimate relationship with each of us. Is your relationship with God a priority?

Relevant Environments
Every environment should be designed to effectively connect with its target audience. Are your environments appealing, engaging, and helpful?

Relational Evangelism
God’s message of forgiveness through Christ is most effectively conveyed within the context of personal relationships. In whom are you investing?

Authentic Community
Accountability, belonging, care and spiritual growth happen best with relationally-connected believers. Are you in a community group?

Strategic Service
Our spiritual gifts have maximum impact when exercised in support of our strategy. Where are you serving?

Intentional Apprenticing
We are responsible to pass along to others the knowledge, skills and opportunities that have been entrusted to us. Who are you apprenticing?

Our Beliefs

About the Scriptures
We believe the entire Bible is the inspired Word of God and that men were moved by the Spirit of God to write the very words of Scripture. Therefore, we believe the Bible is without error.

About God
We believe in one God who exists in three distinct persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. We believe that Jesus Christ is the second member of the Trinity (the Son of God) who became flesh to reveal God to man and to become the Savior of the lost world.

About Mankind
We believe that mankind was created in the image of God to have fellowship with Him but became alienated in that relationship through sinful disobedience. As a result, man is incapable of regaining a right relationship with God through his own effort alone.

About Salvation
We believe that the blood of Jesus Christ, shed on the cross, provides the sole basis for the forgiveness of sin. Therefore, salvation occurs only when people place their faith in the death and resurrection of Christ as sufficient payment for their sin.

About the Christian Life
We believe that every Christian should live for Christ and not for himself. By obedience to the Word of God and daily yielding to the Spirit of God, every believer should mature and be conformed to the image of Christ.

About the Church
We believe that the church is the body of Christ, of which Jesus Christ is the head. The members of the church are those who have trusted by faith the finished work of Christ. The purpose of the church is to glorify God by loving Him and by making Him known to the lost world.

Children & Students

As part of the Family Ministry strategy at Wiregrass Church, we believe that “what happens at home is more important than what happens at church.” It’s a strategy that combines two influences: the church and the family.

By combining these critical influences, our strategy more effectively shows this generation who God is better than either the church or the family could alone. At Wiregrass Church we partner with parents by creating environments for their children to connect with God. We also want to give you tools to help you engage in meaningful conversations with your children about faith and character at home.

We are WITH you.
